Ottawa BlackJacks Sign Canadian Forward Jackson Rowe

March 2, 2022

The Ottawa BlackJacks of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) announced Wednesday the signing of Canadian forward, Jackson Rowe.

A six-foot-seven Toronto native, Rowe has averaged 14.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.0 steals and 23.3 minutes in 34 games as a pro in Sweden and France.

After starting his professional career in 2020 with Roanne in the Betclic Elite, France’s top-tier men’s professional basketball league, Rowe moved to Sweden for the 2021-22 season, where he has averaged 16.5 points, 7.2 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.1 steals and 25.7 minutes in 28 games with Norrkoping. He recorded five double-doubles and scored 20 or more points 11 times. On December 14, he scored a season-high 28 points, going nine-for-10 shooting from the field against Fryshuset.

A Kinesiology major, Rowe played four years with California State University Fullerton in the NCAA Division I, earning various athletic awards. As a fourth-year veteran with the team in 2019-20, he was named a second-team All-Big West honoree, leading the team both in scoring and rebounding, averaging 15.6 points and 7.4 rebounds in 20 games. He tallied five double-doubles this season and 21 throughout his college career, ranking him fourth in Fullerton history. By season’s end, he took over the second spot on the all-time Fullerton’s basketball program rebounding and blocking list, sitting at 811 rebounds and 113 blocks. He also became the 26th Titan to score 1,000 career points by the end of his Junior season.

Rowe attended Wasatch Academy in Mount Pleasant, Utah. He played four years for the Tigers and helped lead the team to a 29-4 overall record.

Rowe became the third player to sign with Ottawa for the 2022 season. The BlackJacks previously announced the signing of NBA-experienced forward Deng Adel and six-foot-11 Canadian forward Chad Posthumus.

Last month, the Ottawa BlackJacks, in collaboration with the CEBL, announced its 2022 regular season 20-game schedule, opening up with a game at home versus Fraser Valley on May 25 at 7:30pm. In addition to 10 regular season home games, the BlackJacks will be hosting the 2022 CEBL Championship Weekend from August 12-14, 2022.
