Team introduces five themed games to provide a premium entertainment experience
The Ottawa BlackJacks in collaboration with the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) announced Thursday that single game tickets for the 2022 BlackJacks regular season are now on sale.
Showcasing world-class professional basketball and entertainment in a fan-friendly environment, single game tickets for a BlackJacks game start as low as $30 and offer fans various seating options at the Arena at TD Place in historic Lansdowne Park.
To create the most memorable game day experience, the BlackJacks are introducing five themed games throughout the season, starting with the Home Opener on May 25 against Fraser Valley followed by the “Love & Hoops” game, taking place on June 21 against the 2021 CEBL Championship runners-up, the Niagara River Lions. Fans will be invited to celebrate self-love and show their appreciation for one another in an evening filled with hoops and romance.
The only team to beat the Edmonton Stingers since July 26, 2020, the BlackJacks will play against the defending CEBL champions at home on Thursday, June 23, before highlighting local artists in their “Sounds of the Court” game on July 6 against Saskatchewan.
Committed to bringing communities together and celebrating the diversity and culture of basketball, the BlackJacks will be “Celebrating the Global Game” on July 19 in a game against the east coast expansion franchise, the Newfoundland Growlers, led by former Ottawa assistant coach Patrick Ewing Jr., who now serves as the Growlers head coach and general manager.
Coming back from a single trip to Edmonton, the BlackJacks will close out their regular season Monday, August 1, playing host to the expansion Montreal Alliance in their “BlackJacks BlackOut” game. Fans will be invited to pack the house and wear black to support the BlackJacks while pumping up the energy in the arena ahead of the 2022 CEBL Championship Weekend from August 12-14, 2022, at TD Place.
Fans may purchase single game tickets for the 2022 BlackJacks regular season on theblackjacks.ca/tickets. The BlackJacks also have various ticket packages that allow fans to enjoy savings while securing their seats to some of the best games of the year, including season seat memberships, flex packs and group tickets. Half season seat memberships are also available and include all themed games in addition to Championship Weekend semifinals and final.
On Wednesday, the BlackJacks announced the signing of Canadian guard Cody John, who became the fourth player to sign with Ottawa for the 2022 season. Ottawa previously announced the signing of NBA-experienced forward Deng Adel as well as Canadian forwards Jackson Rowe and Chad Posthumus.
All regular season games will be live streamed on CEBL+, the free CBC Gem streaming service, cbcsports.ca and the CBC Sports app. Nationally televised games will be announced at a later date.
